Approximately 70 punters turned up to the Equal Chance club in Walthamstow this month to try and eliminate British Cage Rage heavyweight champion Mustapha Al Turk from a poker competition.
The 6 ft 2 in warrior is a fan of card playing and a £100 bonus was offered for anybody who was capable of knocking him out of the tournament, the Guardian's Ross Davis reported in This Is London.
Al Turk joins UFC champion Forrest Griffin among the mixed martial-artists who have had their passion for poker revealed in recent months.
Griffin attended the World Series of Poker main event this year, even though he was still sporting the bruises after a brutal fight against fellow light-heavyweight Quinton Jackson in the Octagon just one day before.
The 29-year-old was knocked out of the richest competition in card playing early on, after having the misfortune of drawing the same table as two-time champion Johnny Chan.
